DrillSteady

DrillSteady is a compact, portable drill jig that swings open to clamp on to your tubing. All you do is drill.

DrillSteady is easy to use, so it’s great for DIY and professionals who want to build a bimini top, boat dodger, add grab rails and more. It fits in your palm (or in your pocket), so it’s always close at hand.

Drill tubing flawlessly in under 45 seconds?

Sound too good to be true?

With the DrillSteady drill guide:

  • You can drill a bent frame corner, stanchion or other tubing in place. There is no need to disassemble or remove tubing from your boat. This will save you time and money on cutting and welding (or repairing drilling mistakes)
  • A 9/64″ (3.5mm) drill bit is held in place securely (use #8 screws)
  • Large, knurled thumbscrews mean an easy grip and tight fit on tubing with diameter 3/4″ – 1 1/4″ (19.05mm – 31.75mm)
  • The durable cast metal drill guide body (zinc for DrillSteady, bronze for DrillSteady PRO) will not mar your shining stainless steel
  • The sturdy, tool steel drill bushing will give you years of service
  • Invented and made right here in Maine

Our *NEW* DrillSteady PRO has all the features of DrillSteady, but with a even tougher cast bronze body. Great for heavy use, we’re so sure DrillSteady PRO will keep up with you that we’ll replace it if it ever breaks under normal use. Just send us back the broken parts, tell us what you were drilling when it broke, and we’ll send you a new one.

Second purchase

April 19, 2017

This is my second purchase. I have another project that these will allow me to fab vs hiring a welder. Saving some bucks, yet with a quality installation.

Measure twice cut once

June 2, 2025

I ordered the wrong size parts for my Bimini. I contacted Gemini Marine about my foul up. Eve provided me choices to fix the problem and it was done, no more problem. I now have the right size struts and hinges installed on my boat and I love it. They were personable, professional and I would recommend them and their product to everybody.

“Up and Over” Solar Install – Came out Great!

May 21, 2025

I added solar panels above a bimini and followed Gemini’s guidance form their website for the “up and over” style. I used Gemini fittings which are of excellent quality and arrived promptly. I’m extremely pleased with the result.

Hey! That’s great to hear. Thank you for update on your project – all you DIY-ers take note!

Eye Ends

April 30, 2025

Experience was great.

Would note that for the eye end, I don’t trust the Allen screw to hold ss tube under even minor stress, so replaced the Allen screw with quick release pins drilled all the way through the eye end and ss tube.

Response from Gemini Marine Products

We’re so glad you found your experience with us helpful. Just to be clear: We’ve been building canvas for 30+ years, and we have every faith in the set screws (called grub screws for our friends Down Under) – I think that’s what you are referring to, but whatever floats your boat! We’d be a bit concerned that if your need to drill all the way through the eye end and the tubing, you might be expecting things to tolerate a bit too much stress (like traveling at speed with your canvas up), so please be careful.
