Bimini conversion kits
Everything you need to go strapless today
It’s your bimini. Just better.
Eliminating those pesky straps would clear deck space, open your cockpit and give you freedom to move, fish and access more of your boat more easily. Winches would be clear, companionways open.
Enter the strapless bimini.
Struts, not straps, push open the frame and hold it firm until you take it down, giving you perfectly-tensioned canvas every time with nothing to adjust (and no pins, straps or hardware to lose).

Can I convert the bimini on my power boat to strapless?
Yes you can, but the system is not designed to bear the heavy loads generated when travelling at speed. A few extra steps will help keep you safe.
We strongly advise folding up frames while underway (or trailering on the road). This prevents damage to your canvas, hardware, deck, etc. Our canvas shop regularly makes repairs for customers who regret trying to leave a bimini up while underway or on the road. The strapless system makes taking down canvas very quick and simple because it is so easy to deploy.
If you cannot take down the canvas while travelling at speed, please take the following precautions when installing your strapless bimini:
- Use a pair of forward straps to control the load on the forward cantilevered edge and prevent it flying up (and breaking/tearing components). These can be removed when the boat slows.
- Any set screws in the frame’s lower connections should be replaced with screws mounted through the eye end and into the tubing to make the fittings secure.
- Secure the deck mounts with through-bolts (not simply screws into the fiberglass).

Second purchase
This is my second purchase. I have another project that these will allow me to fab vs hiring a welder. Saving some bucks, yet with a quality installation.

Measure twice cut once
I ordered the wrong size parts for my Bimini. I contacted Gemini Marine about my foul up. Eve provided me choices to fix the problem and it was done, no more problem. I now have the right size struts and hinges installed on my boat and I love it. They were personable, professional and I would recommend them and their product to everybody.
Response from Gemini Marine Products
The pleasure is all ours. Stuff happens! We’re happy when you are happy.
“Up and Over” Solar Install – Came out Great!
I added solar panels above a bimini and followed Gemini’s guidance form their website for the “up and over” style. I used Gemini fittings which are of excellent quality and arrived promptly. I’m extremely pleased with the result.
Response from Gemini Marine Products
Hey! That’s great to hear. Thank you for update on your project – all you DIY-ers take note!
Eye Ends
Experience was great.
Would note that for the eye end, I don’t trust the Allen screw to hold ss tube under even minor stress, so replaced the Allen screw with quick release pins drilled all the way through the eye end and ss tube.
Response from Gemini Marine Products
We’re so glad you found your experience with us helpful. Just to be clear: We’ve been building canvas for 30+ years, and we have every faith in the set screws (called grub screws for our friends Down Under) – I think that’s what you are referring to, but whatever floats your boat! We’d be a bit concerned that if your need to drill all the way through the eye end and the tubing, you might be expecting things to tolerate a bit too much stress (like traveling at speed with your canvas up), so please be careful.
